Guidance - Student Success Centre
Every student has different expectations of High School, different learning styles and different needs. Our Student Success Centre is designed and personalized to encourage and assist you in making the most of your High School experience. Our services, supports and programs are student-focused. We aim to provide students with the opportunity to achieve academic success, to get involved in our school activities, to set goals (educational, career, personal) and to give back to the community.
Located on the main floor, the Student Success Centre is here to assist students with their transition into High School, to support them during their time here as a student and to help them prepare for life after High School.
Students can access the following services and programs:
- Guidance Counsellors
- Learning Resource
- ELL Support
- School Resource Officer
- Business Office
- Community Resources
- Credit Recovery and Credit Rescue
The Student Success Centre is here to help and ensure supports are in place so each student's journey through High School leads to a successful future once they leave High School. Appointments may be booked through the Secretary in the Student Success Centre.
2025-2026 Student Schedules and Course Changes
Student Schedules
Considerable work has gone into the creation of the 2025-2026 timetables for all students. This process of course selection and program planning began formally in January. Every effort has been made to ensure that student timetables are accurate and personalized based on requests. In 95% of cases, students receive their course requests. With the complex nature of the timetable and in striving to meet student requests, there is little room to make changes to timetables for this coming fall.
Course Change Request Process
Students can request a maximum of two of the following possible course changes:
- Grade 12 students missing a course required for graduation
- Add (eg. filling a spare) or drop a class (eg. completed in summer school)
- Missing the prerequisite course to a scheduled course (eg. did not complete Social Studies 20, but scheduled for Social Studies 30)
- Courses out of sequence (eg. Science 30 first semester, Science 20 second semester)
- Students took and passed a prerequisite course at Summer School
- Academic course level change (eg. Math 20-1 to 20-2)
- Balancing timetable (eg. 3 core classes in one semester and 1 in the other)
- Grade 11 and 12 option change requests (based on very limited availability)
We are NOT ABLE to accommodate the following requests:
- Specific teacher requests
- Specific classes/spares in certain periods or semesters
- Grade 10 option changes (due to enrollment capacity of courses)
- Repeating a completed class to earn a higher mark
