CBE is alive with the sound of music!

Forest Lawn High School and Lester B. Pearson High School hosted nearly 600 students at CBE Sings Jr. and CBE Sings, welcoming choirs from six junior high and middle schools and 11 high schools across the system.

CBE Sings and CBE Sings JR continue to strengthen choral music education across the system by providing accessible learning opportunities for students. Both festivals are noncompetitive, intentionally designed to address a longstanding gap in accessible choral festival opportunities for public education programs within Calgary. These events prioritize inclusion, collaboration and student voice, ensuring that all participating choirs can engage meaningfully regardless of school size or resources.

In addition to sharing performances, students participated in creative learning sessions led by high school choral educators and artists from Luminous Voices during CBE Sings. The sessions helped create authentic connections between school music programs and Calgary’s professional arts community.
