Yearbooks
The yearbooks are expected to arrive next week. Pick up for those who have purchased a yearbook will be at 3:35 to 4pm on Thursday and Friday in the upper hub area. If a yearbook has been ordered and not paid for, please pay using your MyCBE account prior to picking up your yearbook. We will have a very small selection of yearbooks available to purchase for those who did not order previously. These yearbooks must be paid for in-person at the school and are available on a first-come first-serve basis.
Craven Cafe
The last day of food service provided by the cafe is June 6. Please plan an alternative for food service.
Annual General Meeting of the JCS Parent Council
Please accept this as notice of the Annual General Meeting of the JCS Parent Council and the Annual General Meeting of the JCS Parent Society. These meetings will be held on Thursday, June 13 at 7:00 PM at JCS.
Elevator Passes
If students have an elevator pass signed out, please ensure it is returned to the Business Office when they have completed their courses before the end of the semester.
Locker Clean Out
We ask that all lockers are cleared out by Thursday, June 6. Please remind your student to ensure that all personal items are removed from the locker and locks are returned to the main office.
Food Trucks
JCS will have food trucks on June 7 as a farewell for graduating students and promote school spirit and culture. Invited Food Trucks include:

Important things to remember for June 7
- The student parking lot will be closed for the day and students will need to find alternative parking or transportation to school.
- This is a regularly scheduled school day in which attendance is recorded.
- All school rules will apply to activities.
- Cash and card accepted by all food trucks.
Cosmetology Client Night
The next client night is June 6, please contact the Cosmetology lab for prices, information or to book in, 403-817-3600 ext. 5. Cosmetology is also selling hand lotions, shampoo, and products.
Europe Trip 2025
Any students interested in travelling to Greece next spring (Spring Break - 2025) please plan to attend one of the information meetings next week. The information meetings will be during lunch on Tuesday (June 4), Wednesday (June 5), and Thursday (June 6) in Room 3612.

Information from the Student Success Centre
Every student at JCS is enrolled in the Student Success Centre (SSC) D2L shell. Lots of valuable information will be posted there. Students are encouraged to log in and keep up to date with the available information regarding post-secondary applications, university open houses and scholarships. Students should also review the monthly calendar where various upcoming post-secondary events will be posted.
Summer School Information
Chinook Learning Services is hosting a Virtual Meet & Greet on Thursday, June 13 at 7:00 PM. Register here to attend at. There will also be an In-Person Open House at Lord Beaverbrook High School on Thursday, June 20 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM.
The registration deadline to take a Summer School course with the CBE has now closed.
CBe-learn (online learning) All students will be enrolled into ‘Essential for Online Learning Success with access by June 17. Students that complete this course by July 9 will receive one credit (unless they have previously completed the course).
Notifications of enrollment for a summer school course will be emailed to families between June 3 to 7. Notifications will be sent from either “External - CBe-learn” or “External – Chinook Learning Services” inboxes.
If you have not received an email notification regarding your summer school course by June 7, please check your junk/spam folder as well as your inbox you still can’t find information contact CBe-learn regarding online learning or Chinook Learning Services for in-person learning.
Diploma Prep Courses
Students wishing to get the best possible marks on their Grade 12 diploma exams can attend a Diploma Prep Course. They are offered in various formats (Online, In-person or On Demand). See www.diplomaprep.com, www.renert.com or www.rtdlearning.com for more information and to register.

Free University of Calgary Summer Program for both first and second-generation Canadians. This program aims to teach students how to become community leaders and mentors in wellbeing and mental health. Each participant will be paired with a mentor, have the opportunity to volunteer with the program in the next school year, and receive a certificate upon completion. Throughout the program, students will develop research skills, prepare for university, engage with career panels, and explore social, physical, and mental health.
Celebrations
Alberta Skills Competition
Congratulations to Eric S. who earned a Silver medal in the IT Network Administration event at the Alberta Skills Competition . This was Eric's third time competing in this event and his second time in the top 3. Big congratulations to the JCS Skills Team who competed in Robotics, Electronics, Photography, Mechanical CAD, Hairstyling, and Job Skills Demonstration.
Level up Calgary Season 3
Congratulations to Karem A., Royce M., and Muhammad S. for winning the Division IV Haultain Park Design in the Level-Up Calgary Season 3 Minecraft Challenge. Jack C. won for his Green Line LRT design, with Owen B., Brandon L., and Tomas S. as runners-up.
