Graduation Day
JCS Graduation Day was an enormous success, and we thank all the staff that pulled together to ensure an amazing event for our students and their families. Congratulations to all the Graduates!
Craven Cafe
The last day of food service provided by the cafe is June 6. Please plan an alternative for food service.
Dance and Drama Showcase
The Dance and Drama Showcase is on Thursday, May 30 at 7:00pm at the YMCA Seton Theatre. This is a fun show where we take work from our classes such as student-choreographed dances, directing projects, guest choreographer dances and a set from the improv club, and put it all together for one evening performance. There will also be displays set up outside the theatre of artwork from our semester two art students for people to view prior to the show starting. Suggested ticket prices are $5 for Students and $10 for adults and can be purchased in the Drama Room (1811) or at the door, cash only. We hope to see you there!
Elevator Passes
If students have an elevator pass signed out, please ensure it is returned to the Business Office when they have completed their courses before the end of the semester.
Locker Clean Out
We ask that all lockers are cleared out by Thursday, June 6. Please remind your student to ensure that all personal items are removed from the locker and locks are returned to the main office.
Cosmetology Client Night
The next client night is June 6, please contact the Cosmetology lab for prices, information or to book in, 403-817-3600 ext. 5. Cosmetology is also selling hand lotions, shampoo, and products.
Student Fees
All student fees are posted in MyCBE, please ensure that fees are paid in a timely manner.

International Guide to Post-Secondary Virtual Event
Calgary’s Mayor’s Youth Council is hosting a Virtual guide to international post-secondary on Saturday, May 25, from 10:00 am to 11:30am. The event aims to give high school students valuable insight and advice on applying to international universities/colleges across Calgary. There will also be a Q&A so students can have their questions answered by current undergraduate students. Register for the event here!
Information from the Student Success Centre
Every student at JCS is enrolled in the Student Success Centre (SSC) D2L shell. Lots of valuable information will be posted there. Students are encouraged to log in and keep up to date with the available information regarding post-secondary applications, university open houses and scholarships. Students should also review the monthly calendar where various upcoming post-secondary events will be posted.
Summer School Information
Chinook Learning Services is hosting a Virtual Meet & Greet on Thursday, June 13 at 7:00 pm. Register here to attend at. There will also be an In-Person Open House at Lord Beaverbrook High School on Thursday, June 20 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.
The registration deadline to take a Summer School course with the CBE has now closed.
CBe-learn (online learning)All students will be enrolled into ‘Essential for Online Learning Success,’ with access by June 17. Students that complete this course by July 9 will receive one credit (unless they have previously completed the course).
Notifications of enrollment for a summer school course will be emailed to families between June 3 to 7. Notifications will be sent from either “External - CBe-learn” or “External – Chinook Learning Services” inboxes.
If you have not received an email notification regarding your summer school course by June 7, please check your junk/spam folder as well as your inbox. If you still can’t find information contact CBe-learn regarding online learning or Chinook Learning Services for in-person learning.
Diploma Prep Courses
Students wishing to get the best possible marks on their Grade 12 diploma exams can attend a Diploma Prep Course. They are offered in various formats (Online, In-person or On Demand). See www.diplomaprep.com, www.renert.com or www.rtdlearning.com for more information and to register.
EducationMatters’ 2023/2024 student award applications are now live.
Students should apply for all awards through the online portal (https://applications.educationmatters.ca). Depending on the aware, application deadlines are May 1 or May 30.

Fusion Collegiate Information Session
Offers academic, post-secondary programs and skilled trades (Pipe Trades; Heat and Frost Insulator; Auto body; Recreation Vehicle Service, Business and Entrepreneurship, Animal & Health Sciences and more) for students who are aging out of high school and are under the age of 20 on September 1, 2024.
