Graduation Day
Graduation Day for Grade 12 students is May 16 and there is no school for all students.
Tickets
Each student on the grad list was provided with the opportunity to get 4 tickets for the graduation ceremony. Graduating students do not need a ticket to attend the ceremony. We are not able to provide any additional tickets and cannot replace any lost/misplaced tickets.
There are currently only 15 banquet tickets still available for purchase. The deadline to purchase is until all are sold or Sunday at Midnight, whichever comes first. There will be no more banquet tickets available after that time.
Didn’t pick up your grad ceremony tickets please see Ms. Lloyd in the main office before or after school, ASAP.
Graduation Rehearsal and Gown Distribution
Reminder that Grad Ceremony rehearsal and gown distribution will be on May 9 at 2pm. It is imperative that all graduating students attend.
American Sign Language Support
Please contact Andrea Lloyd if you require ASL interpreter supports for the graduation ceremony.
Learning Commons
Please return all library books, novel study and textbooks to the third floor as soon as they are no longer needed. Books not returned on time will be charged to students in PowerSchool.
Please check MyCBE for late or lost book charges (returning books reverses the charge)

Information from the Student Success Centre
Every student at JCS is enrolled in the Student Success Centre (SSC) D2L shell. Lots of valuable information will be posted there. Students are encouraged to log in and keep up to date with the available information regarding post-secondary applications, university open houses and scholarships. Students should also review the monthly calendar where various upcoming post-secondary events will be posted.
Summer School Information
CBe-learn (Online Learning)
The Student Success Centre will enter summer school requests for online learning from May 6 to 10. All students will be enrolled into ‘Essential for Online Learning Success’, with access by June 17. Students that complete this course by July 9 will receive one credit (unless they have previously completed the course).
Chinook Learning Services (In-Person Learning)
The Student Success Centre will enter summer school requests for in-person learning from May 13 to 16.
Notifications of Enrollment
For a summer school course will be emailed to families between June 3 to 7. Notifications will be sent from either “External - CBe-learn” or “External – Chinook Learning Services” inboxes.
If you have not received an email notification regarding your summer school course by June 7 please check your junk/spam folder as well as your inbox. If you still can’t find information contact/email CBe-learn regarding online learning or contact/email Chinook Learning Services for in-person learning.
Chinook Learning Services
CLS is offering a Virtual Open House on Tuesday, May 14 at 7:00 pm. Students and parents will learn about high school completion and upgrading. Scan the QR code on the Student Success Centre D2L to receive an email to join the session or visit their website to register.
Diploma Prep Courses
Students wishing to get the best possible marks on their Grade 12 diploma exams can attend a Diploma Prep Course. They are offered in various formats (Online, In-person or On Demand). See Diploma Prep or RTD Learningfor more information and to register.
EducationMatters’ 2023/2024 student award applications are now live.
Students should apply for all awards through the online EducationMatters portal. Depending on the aware, application deadlines are May 1 or May 30.
