Fall Break

There is a System Indigenous Education Learning Day on November 9 and there is no school for students. JCS Fall Break is November 10 - 14 and the school is closed.

Remembrance Day

The Remembrance Day assembly will be on November 8. To support the Veterans, please send in a donation with your student for a poppy.

Looking for your Sudent’s Grade 9 Provincial Achievement Test Results

At JCS we encourage all students to set up their Alberta Education myPass account. myPassis a secure self-service website that allows students to view their provincial achievement tests (PATs)/diploma examination results, register to write or re-write diploma examinations, and many more services. Music Fundraising - last day November 27

Parent PowerSchool Portal (MyCBE) - Term 1 Reporting

MyCBE viewing of the class Grade is disabled effective Monday, October 30 to allow teachers to enter report card comments and marks. Viewing of Term 1 marks will be enabled on November 8.

Parking Pass

Students parking in the student lot require a parking pass. The passes are available for pick up in the business office once the application has been submitted and fees have been paid.Any students who did not receive an email with the pass link, can contact Linda Kowalchuk.  

Information from the Student Success Centre

Every student at JCS is enrolled in the Student Success Centre (SSC) D2L shell. Lots of valuable information will be posted there. Students are encouraged to log in and keep up to date with the available information regarding post-secondary applications, university open houses and scholarships. Students should also review the monthly calendar where various upcoming post-secondary events will be posted.

Are You Ready to Graduate?

Grade 12 students attended a presentation regarding Graduation requirements during Raven time on Thursday, November 2 in Period 1. During the next Raven time on Thursday, November 16 in Period 2, Grade 12 students will be filling out the ‘Are You Ready to Graduate?’ form. The form must be completed by every Grade 12 student and will be collected and submitted to the SSC.

A University of Alberta Advisor will be at JCS on Monday, November 20, from 3:15 - 4:15pm to meet one-on-one with interested students. Students can sign up for a 15-minute session to meet with an advisor and ask questions about programs, applications, admissions, student life, and more! Students must sign up using the link which can be found under ‘Announcements’ on the SSC D2L.
