Grades in PowerSchool
We would like to remind parents that attendance and individual assignment grades are visible in PowerSchool. Attendance is accurate and updated by teachers and the office each day. If your student is marked absent, it is because they were absent. The PowerSchool web browser is the most effective way to view attendance and grades accurately.
Currently, final grades are not visible for all classes at JCS to support effective assessment. Final grades will be visible between September 25, 2026 and October 5, 2026, dependent on specific course assessment calendars.
Parents may use the PowerSchool Mobile App, which is available for Android and iPhone users, to receive push notifications anytime Final Grades or Attendance are updated by the school or teachers.
If you are unable to access PowerSchool for your student, please contact the main office to ensure your account is connected. Please stay tuned for a guide for parents to best utilize PowerSchool web browser and app to support their student’s learning. This will be shared in a future Raven Post.
Student Parking Passes Required
A reminder that student parking passes are now required for students to utilize the student parking lot during school hours. Parents are asked to check the Raven Post | September 4 for more details on how to apply for a parking pass. Tickets without parking passes in the student lot may be ticketed and/or towed during school hours.
November Diploma Exams
Did your student take a summer school diploma course (30-level) but miss the diploma exam this summer? Please have them connect with Mr. Brown (rabrown@cbe.ab.ca) via email or in the main office to request a seat in that November Diploma Exam. Exam dates are found on the Alberta Education 2026-27 Diploma Exam Calendar.
