Joane Cardinal Schubert High School is pleased to invite you to an upcoming Welcome to High School for Parents on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
This session is designed to support and inform parents of students transitioning to Grade 9 who will be attending JCS for the 2025/26 school year. It will provide essential information to assist parents in guiding their students through the high school transition with confidence.
We aim to address many of your questions, including those related to learning and assessment, such as:
- What is Outcome-Based Assessment, and how does it differ from Grade 9 assessment practices?
- What academic supports are available?
- Setting students up for success in high school
- What are high school graduation requirements?
We will also clarify aspects related to daily high school operations, including:
- What does the first day of school look like?
- What is the high school timetable?
- Transportation to and from school - what are the options?
- How can I stay informed?
